Cupping marks that may appear are NOT bruises and fade over time. The treatment isn’t painful and many find it relaxing. The History & Science of Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy has existed for hundreds of years and is considered one of the oldest traditional massages. Cupping goes by other different names, including horn treatment, hijama, and vacuum cupping. Cupping is a special technique where the massage therapist uses special cups on one’s skin to create some form of suction.

It is an effective technique of removing toxins from the body’s organs and tissues. As a result, the skin beneath the cup is drawn upwards and swells up to increase blood flow to the area. Some believe that enhanced blood flow leads to toxins being drawn from nearby organs for waste elimination through the blood and lymph systems.
